Circus Time

Every 4th of July, in Dr. Prasad’s hometown, we would all attend the annual celebration in his town of Maplewood. And each year there would be a small town circus, that Dr. Prasad would without fail attend. I remember one year, all of us adults are standing in line to get tickets, surrounded by and feeling like kids.

The Circus usually has a segment of acrobatics. Dr. Prasad is watching very attentively and is thrilled at the performance. I commented that i saw much more difficult and risky performances at the Barnum Bailey circus performance in Las Vegas.

He smiled and said something to the tune of: Always seek out the best around you. It will inspire you. With baby steps and practice, you get deeper insights. That is what these acrobats have achieved. Spirituality is about patience, perseverance and shraddha (sincerity)
